The Flying Lap is a podcast created and hosted by Peter Windsor, a man who is a Formula 1 journalist, manager and broadcaster, all rolled into one.
Despite having been involved with Formula 1 for decades, he is one of only a small handful of jornalists who seem to fully appreciate the affect of new media - such as podcasts, Facebook and Twitter - and the new opportunities this presents for fans to get much closer to the sport they love.
Each Wednesday, Peter presents the show which can be viewed online, and can then be downloaded as either a video or audio pocast.
The show involves lots of audience participation, and viewers are encouraged to pose questions to Peter and his guests.
The Flying Lap has at least one guest each week. Recently, these have included former commentators; Maurice Hamilton and James Allen; people involved directly in the sport, Toro Rosso driver Sebastien Buemi, Renault engineer James Allison and Pirelli boss Paul Hembrey; as well as online journalists Craig 'Scarbs' Scarborough and Keith Collantine of F1Fanatic.co.uk

Q&A With Senna Director Kapadia
It has been confirmed that the director of the SENNA movie, Asif Kapadia, will attend a Q&A session at the Latitude festival (near Southwold, Suffolk) and clips from the film will also been shown.
It was originally thought that the full film would be shown, but Kapadia confirmed to us on Twitter:
"clips and a Q&A but the whole film will not be screened as hopefully will still be on general release."

Senna & Ratzenberger Remembered
This weekend saw the 17th anniversary of the passing of two great Formula One drivers.
The 1994 San Marino Grand Prix saw young Austrian, Roland Ratzenberger, lose his life whilst qualifying for the Grand Prix in his Simtek.
The next day during the race, Ayrton Senna's Williams crashed from the lead of the race, killing the famous Brazilian.
Ratzenberger had failed to qualify in his first Grand Prix in Brazil, and qualified at the back of the grid for the Pacific Grand Prix. His third attempt was the Imola circuit in San Marino, but it was also to be his last, crashing at Villeneuve corner with a suspected front-wing problem.
Senna was, and still is, considered by many to be the greatest driver of all time. Having won three Drivers World Championships, and now looking for a fourth, the often controversial driver was leading the race before his car inexplicably left the circuit at the high speed Tamburello corner. He was airlifted to hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
Many people have left messages remembering the two drivers:
Lotus-Renault Test Driver Bruno Senna (Ayrton's nephew) - @BSenna:
"Thanks for all the good wishes! The most important thing is to keep the best Ayrton left for us always!! His best memories are what I keep."
BBC F1 Presenter Jake Humphrey - @Jakehumphreyf1:
"Unbelievable isn't it. This weekend SEVENTEEN years ago F1 lost #RolandRatzenberger and then the following day #Ayrton Senna. Lest we forget"
Formula One Journalist Craig Scarborough - @ScarbsF1:
"17 years since we lost senna & ratzenberger, surely a tough time today for team members who were at williams & simtek at the time."
The silver lining however, is that following increased safety requirements which have been introduced as a result of these accidents, no Formula One driver has been killed since this tragic weekend.

Glock Taken To Hospital
Marussia-Virgin driver Timo Glock has been taken to hospital in Switzerland with suspected appendicitis.
The German was successfully operated on, and is not expected to miss any Grands Prix, but is unlikely to appear at the final pre-season test in Barcelona.
Glock used his Twitter account to thank fans for their support:

The Effect Of Tyre Wear
Several drivers and teams have expressed concerns with the effects of the wear-rate of the new Pirelli tyres, with Team Lotus driver Jarno Trulli stating "I think something is still missing in the development, because the tyres aren't balanced yet". (For this story in full, see www.autosport.com)
It is claimed that the tyres degrade much quicker than last year's Bridgestone tyres - and F1 correspondent James Allen can prove this! His website now shows graphs showing lap times from 2010 tests, and compares the times to the 2011 tests.

However, increased tyre wear may not be entirely negative, from a viewer's point of view at least, as BBC F1 commentator Martin Brundle - @MBrundleF1 - explained on his Twitter page:
"Drivers will bitch like crazy bt I'm really liking what I'm seeing out on track. They are really having to drive the cars, loads of mistakes"
"Mercedes has poor traction, McLaren looks shocking as if on cold tyres, Red Bull+Ferrari+Renault Lotus Lada+Williams all pounding round"
"Torro Rosso looks solid, Buemi is chasing the throttle as hard as anybody. Watching cars it's definitely going to be a wild+variable season"

Bahrain Update
Bernie Ecclestone has confirmed that he will leave the decision of whether the Bahrain Grand Prix goes ahead to the Nation's Crown-Prince.
Former Formula One driver Alex Wurz said on his Twitter page:
@alex_wurz - "bahrain turns in2 contractual matter! 1st party to cancel race would loose cash, so every1 waits 4 'force majeure' i guess"
It has however been reported that I'd the race does go ahead, at least one team would boycott the event.
