Lotus Renault GP have announced that Vitaly Petrov has signed a new two year deal with the team, and will continue to partner Robert Kubica in the 2011 season.
In Petrov's first season he showed potential, but suffered from several rookie errors, and therefore it was not clear whether the team would keep him on for another season.
The decision by Lotus Renault GP will be partly commercial, as the young Russian will be able to open new doors to the team and the sport in Eastern europe.
